Rwandair Prepares to Receive its Fourth Boeing 737-800NG

RwandAir B737-800 RwandAir, the national carrier of the Republic of Rwanda, is expecting the delivery of another brand new state of the art Boeing 737-800 Next Generation (NG) aircraft equipped with in-flight connectivity. The new aircraft will land in Kigali on the 28th of May at 16hrs and will take RwandAir’s young fleet to a total of 12 aircraft. This aircraft delivery is part of the lease agreement signed in December 2015 between RwandAir and Aircraft Lease Corporation, an American based lessor to acquire two additional brand new dual class Boeing 737-800NG; the first was delivered in November last year. “This aircraft will be RwandAir’s fourth of its type. Uganda's Vule Airways unveils ambitious launch plans

Illustration of Vule Airways DHC 8-400 Vule Airways (Entebbe/Kampala) is a nascent Ugandan budget carrier looking to start operating in the domestic, regional, and international scheduled passenger markets later this year. According to a presentation posted last week, Vule Airways is controlled by international investors (45%) with local Ugandans including promoters holding the remaining 55%. Operationally, Vule Airways plans to launch with six aircraft serving twenty destinations across Africa, Europe, and Asia. It plans to use one Dash 8-200 to cover domestic Ugandan flights as well as thinner regional services to Rwanda, Burundi, Tanzania, Kenya, and Somalia. A single Dash 8-400 will be employed for denser regional services as well as those extending to Zimbabwe, Malawi, Mozambique, and Botswana while a trio of B737-700s will be used to serve South Africa, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Nigeria, Angola, India, Israel, Namibia, and Russia. Boeing Experts discuss business plan for CAMAIR-Co

B737-700 in Camair-Co livery. The company that currently has only five planes (2 B737, 1 B763 ER, 2 MA606) is presently under a seven year restructuring plan with America's Boeing Company. The overall objective of the reforms is to revamp the company and get it back to business. According to the Director General of Cameroon Airlines Corporation, Mr. Ernest Dikoum, the priority of the company presently is to give priority to local and sub continental flights. Ernest Dikoum says strict measures will be put in place to end the issuance of free tickets, accorfingly, even government officials will have to pay flight tickets. Camair-Co intends to fly 23 destinations including eight local flights to Bafoussam, Bamenda, Yaoundé, Douala, Bertoua, Ngaoundéré, Maroua, and Garoua. The company has also scheduled regular flights to four inter-continental airports including Bruxelles, Paris, Washington, and London.
