Boeing Experts discuss business plan for CAMAIR-Co

The company that currently has only five planes (2 B737, 1 B763 ER, 2 MA606) is presently under a seven year restructuring plan with America's Boeing Company. The overall objective of the reforms is to revamp the company and get it back to business.
According to the Director General of Cameroon Airlines Corporation, Mr. Ernest Dikoum, the priority of the company presently is to give priority to local and sub continental flights. Ernest Dikoum says strict measures will be put in place to end the issuance of free tickets, accorfingly, even government officials will have to pay flight tickets.

Camair-Co intends to fly 23 destinations including eight local flights to Bafoussam, Bamenda, Yaoundé, Douala, Bertoua, Ngaoundéré, Maroua, and Garoua. The company has also scheduled regular flights to four inter-continental airports including Bruxelles, Paris, Washington, and London. At the regional level, eleven destinations have been scheduled: Abidjan, Bamako, Bangui, Cotonou, Johannesburg, Kinshasa, Libreville, Ndjamena and Lagos.
As the airliner seeks to regain its clientele and enhance customer satisfaction and efficiency in service delivery, it has sort the expertise of the aeroplane manufacture Boeing in the elaboration and implementation of its seven year restricting plan.
The Minister of Transport, H.E. Mr. Edgard Alain Mebe Ngo’o, presented the details of the restructuring plan during a ceremony in Yaoundé attended by the Minister Delegate for Transport Méfiro Oumarou, chairman of the board of Administration of Camair-Co. The new plan replaces that elaborated June last year. It lays emphasis on the acquisition of new air carriers and the diversification of destinations.
According to the director of sales at Boeing, Mr. Michael Bangue-Tandet, in the next seven years the company will acquire twelve new passenger planes including a cargo plane and two B777-200 ER (Extended Range) as temporal measures while expecting the B787 a.k.a DREAMLINER in the course of the third and fourth year. In line with the plan, Camairco will purchase a B737 cargo plane in the first year while the MA60 and the B737-700 will be replaced in five years by new generation aeroplanes.
In the course of the second and third year, turboprop Dash 8 Q400 manufactured by Bombardier will be added while the 737 800 will be acquired to boost regional flights. In the meantime, the B763 ER, christened the Dja will be revamped and used for support missions. The B787 will be returned to their owners after two or three years of exploitation.
In July 2020, the company will acquire two Boeing 787. Minister Edgard Alain Mebe Ngo’o, noted that one of the two Dream liners will be available by December 2018, Ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON 2019.
The rehabilitation of Camairco has been estimated at 60 billion CFA francs and so far, 30 billion CFA francs has already been raised by a consortium of banks lead by Ecobank. The Minister added that the remaining 30 billion CFA francs will be provided by the government of Cameroon.
The Transport minister commended the management team of Camairco for raising the punctuality of flights by the national carrier to 76% and performing 72 domestic flights per week.He says this is proof of management's ability to efficiently carryout the renovation of the company.

Namibia's Westair Aviation acquires four ERJ-135s from HOP!

Westair Aviation Logo Namibian passenger charter/ACMI specialist Westair Aviation (Windhoek Eros) has acquired four ERJ-135s from Air France subsidiary HOP!-Régional (YS, Clermont-Ferrand), the first of the type to feature in its growing fleet inventory. According to The Namibian newspaper, the aircraft in question are those which Air Namibia (SW, Windhoek Int'l) had been leasing from the French regional operator namely msn 145243, 145335, 145347, and 145252. They collectively average almost 17 years of age and are used on flights from Windhoek Int'l to Luderitz, Oranjemund, and Walvis Bay domestically as well as Harare Int'l and Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe and Lusaka in Zambia. They are also used on services from Walvis Bay to Cape Town and Johannesburg O.R. Tambo in South Africa as well as from Windhoek Eros to Mpacha, Ondangwa, and Rundu. Solenta Aviation takes SA Express to court over $6.5mn debt

Solenta Avaiton Logo Solenta Aviation (SET, Lanseria) has taken South African Express (XZ, Johannesburg O.R. Tambo) to court over ZAR87.3 million rand (USD6.5 million) in unpaid leasing debts. Citing papers filed with the Gauteng High Court, Business Day reports the claim relates to fees due on three ERJ-145s South African Express wet-leased from Solenta between October 2016 and June this year. Court documents indicate the original ACMI lease contract was for three aircraft covering the period June to December 2016. The agreement was then extended by mutual consent to January of this year and then again from February 1 to July 31. SA Express was to pay Solenta USD300,000 per month for 150 guaranteed block hours for the initial contract which was then reduced to USD270,000 under the revised agreement. For any hours over and above the alloted 150, SA Express was to pay Solenta a rate of USD1,200 per hour under the original contract growing to USD1,300 under the revised agreemen
