Nigeria's Med-View Airline eyes South African debut in 2H17

Med-View Airline (VL, Kano) is planning to make its Southern African debut during the second half of the year airline Managing Director, Alhaji Muneer Bankole, has disclosed.
In an interview with the Nigerian press last month, Bankole alluded to the impending delivery of a B777 as well as a B737-800 currently undergoing pre-delivery maintenance checks.
According to This Day, the B777 will be deployed on flights to Dubai Int'l while the B737 NextGen will be used to open up flights to Johannesburg O.R. Tambo. No specific dates or frequencies were revealed.
Arik Air (W3, Lagos) was the last native Nigerian carrier to serve South Africa until it was taken over by the Nigerian government through its proxy, the Asset Management Company of Nigeria (AMCON) in February.
Med-View Airline currently operates two B737-400s, one B737-500, one B767-300(ER), and one B747-400 (wet-leased from Air Atlanta Icelandic (CC, Reykjavik Keflavik) for use on its Lagos-London Gatwick service).
